Living La Villa Loca with Capsol

Situated in the gorgeous Camps Bay area in Cape Town is Roodeberg on Heights, a Capsol holiday apartment which is nothing short of contemporary chic. The Socialite spent a few days there to check it out…

Camps Bay is famous for its position and extraordinary views, good looking people and choice of local hotspots. It’s vibrant, social and ever so cosmopolitan. A place of majestic properties and never ending sea views, it is an ideal location for a quick getaway or working holiday as we sent editor Chia Kougianos for a few days.

Situated in the heart of Camps Bay, Roodeberg on Heights is so convenient as it’s close to both the beach and restaurants yet still allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The apartment décor blurs the lines between classic and playful, creating a unique escape from work, deadlines and the hustle and bustle of the city. Tranquil yet intriguing, the apartment offers it all. The interior is open and spacious, with light walls and ceilings that capture the day’s sunlight and reflect it around the various rooms.

Contrasted against the neutral cream coloured couches in the lounge area lies tasteful yet bold vibrant artworks positioned around the flat to create a tasteful yet modern atmosphere. The overall décor exudes sophistication whilst still successfully eliciting a quiet charm that promises relaxation.

The kitchen décor combines practicality with style. It’s spacious in design and it’s so light and airy inviting one to sit, socialize and banter around the preparation island while you prep dinner. It has been equipped with everything you could think of which was a great surprise as most self-catering units only offer the bare essentials. You could find anything from utensils and spices to platters and dishes. The kitchen was even equipped with state of the art appliances which we put to good use when The Boyfriend made home-made pizza with cocktails one evening. The kitchen had everything a person needed and wanted, which is such a pleasure for people who enjoy cooking while away. Nothing was overlooked! It was really nice having a dishwasher and washing machine and dryer to use making it very easy to make yourselves right at home.

Leading out from the kitchen is the dining area followed by a sunken lounge with ample seating and a private sea facing balcony. It’s a double-story apartment and it was great to find that the upstairs bedroom level had two sea facing bedrooms which also lead out onto private balconies.

The rooms are elegantly furnished and the walls are adorned with sea-inspired photographic prints showcasing luxurious yachts and unparalleled sea views. Light shades and gentle hints of colour have been used to create a tranquil setting.

The master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed, en suite bathroom and fitted cupboards. The second bedroom has two single beds as well as fitted cupboards. A guest bathroom can also be found on this level.

Large glass doors lead out onto the private balcony where you can take in the glorious views. Neutral floor-length curtains were added to accentuate the large windows and doors facing out onto the balcony which shows breathtaking sea views where you can enjoy daily sunsets over the sea. Undoubtedly the most eye-catching feature would have to be the fire place in the lounge, perfect for romantic evenings in or cozy gatherings with friends.

With easy access in and out of Camps Bay, the apartment’s location is perfect as it’s an easy two minute drive down to the restaurants and just ten minutes away from the city centre itself.

During our whirlwind little trip in and out the city we were able to secure a few meetings, take an evening stroll around Camps Bay, produce new content thanks to the Wi-Fi available at the apartment, host a social gathering with friends and take in the panoramic mountain and sea views from our private terrace reinforcing that Cape Town is one of the most unique destinations in the world.

I would recommend checking out Capsol’s self-catering apartments and holiday rentals – The Socialite will definitely be back and enjoyed our stay so much. It was such a pleasure staying in this gorgeous hotspot without having to worry about anything making it our best trip to Cape Town yet!
