The Rocking the Daisies Festival presented by 5 Gum took place recently and The Socialite was there to check out the action, take a look at what went down at this year’s festival…
Socialite editor, Chia Kougianos, together with Fish Eagle Brand Ambassador Ryan Ramsamy, fashion designer Thiran Moodley, model Grace Rheeders and Shaun “Hulk” Callaghan set off from Durban to attend the festival courtesy of Fish Eagle and Eagle Air. With over 12 000 people from around the country streaming into the three day festival held at the Cloof Wine Estate was set to be one of the biggest events to hit Cape Town this year.
A host of international and local artists were included on the line-up amongst whom included the likes of Civil Twilight, Band of Skulls, Boom Pam, Gazelle, Aking and Tumi and the Volume. The Red Bull Studio Live and Nu World Beat Ring dance floors heaved to some of the hottest DJs like Haezer, Kevin Saunderson and Killer Robot.

Our journey to the 2011 Rocking the Daisies festival began with a two hour flight from uShaka International into Cape Town with a further one hour drive to Carling and as you can see we were kept entertained with never a dull moment aboard the trip. Truth be told Chia won that round with an MMS pic of said gesture sent to Shaun’s mobile…

Temperatures soared to an average of 38 – 40 degrees over the weekend but that didn’t hinder the crowds love of the dam and non-stop party while enjoying the Red Bull Studios djs on the decks
