Paris is the queen of the famous for being famous crowd. She has perfumes and jewellery lines, CDs and TV shows and has been in the headlines too many times to date.

She marked the front pages again this week as she put foot on African soil in support of the Fifa World Cup. Paris was soon spotted dining with none other than Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo Di Caprio. But alas the media attention was not all favourable and news soon broke of her arrest in Port Elizabeth on suspicion of possessing marijuana.

The heiress and a friend were detained at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium after watching the World Cup quarter-final match between Brazil and the Netherlands.

It is believed that Paris was held in a cell while waiting for her lawyer and then appeared before a judge in a Fifa World Cup courtroom. Her publicist later revealed that the incident was a complete misunderstanding and it was actually another person in the group who did it. The culprit was friend and freelance photographer Jennifer Rovero. The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges were made.

Rovero was sentenced to pay a small fine or face 30 days imprisonment – the fine was paid and she was released.

Paris has since made a statement to her fans on Twitter: “Hey guys, there’s a lot of crazy rumours going around. Just want you all to know the truth. Everything is completely fine. I was not charged or arrested, cause I didn’t do anything.””

The Press Queen has once again garnered the attention of the world and has made front page news leaving us to think there is more to the blonde beauty than meets the eye.
