South Africa’s premier rock band Fokofpolisiekar are set to perform live in SA and we have all the info and a ticket giveaway exclusive to The Socialite, check it out…
Fokofpolisiekar was first formed back in 2003 when a group of friends from Bellville decided to start an Afrikaans rock band. Just over 15 years later they have reached cult status in their home country and the band has become a household name. They have become known for their explosive live performances and through their controversial and ever-questioning lyrics have generated much controversy in the South African media. They recently walked away with the South African Music Award (SAMA) for Best Rock Album proving once again they are South Africa’s premier rock band.
Fokofpolisiekar will undertake their one-and-only tour for 2018 kicking off at the end of June and will showcase exactly why they remain one of the country’s top bands over a decade their inception.
During the tour crowds can look forward to a powerful 90-minute set filled with old and new anthems. This set will be in the same vein as the show at Kirstenbosch Summer Concert earlier this year where Fokofpolisiekar’s poignant ballad, Komma was filmed. This music video was released on 27th February 2018 and already boasts over 240 000 views.
