The Socialite’s Chia Kougianos recently played host to the Sunflower Fund’s Fashion Extravaganza, check it out…
The 7th Annual Big Bandana Bash fundraising breakfast in honour of the Sunflower Fund took place recently at The Square Boutique Hotel & Conference Centre in Umhlanga.
The morning featured stunning summer collections from local designers and Sunflower Fund ambassadors Bianca Warren, Karen Monk-Klijnstra and Kathrin Kidger. Each designer spoke about their professional and personal journey and was asked to create a stunning creation from the Sunflower Fund bandanas as part of their range for the morning.
After a moving DVD that paid tribute to the kindness, compassion and selflessness of humanity, Stephanie Berry, PR Manager of The Sunflower Fund in Durban encouraged guests to embrace the characteristics of a Good Samaritan by becoming bone marrow stem cell donors and thanked the ladies for supporting this year’s National Bandana Day Campaign.
Round Table Southern Africa Representative, Graham Carruthers handed over a cheque for R796 250 for the amount raised through Round Table’s sale of bandanas over the past two months. Round Table Southern Africa has supported The Sunflower Fund since its inception in 2000 and has made the sale of Sunflower Bandanas a national project for the past twelve years.
Through the generosity of all present the event raised R18 205.
A big thank you to Bianca Warren, Karen Monk-Klijnstra, Kathrin Kidger, Extreme Model Management, The Square Boutique Hotel & Spa, The Socialite, Audio Pixel Sound & Vision, PRO DJ’s KZN and all the sponsors that kindly donated prizes and items towards the goodie bags and for making the event possible.
