The opulent mansion is situated between Clifton and Camps Bay in Cape Town’s prime and most expensive real estate which plays host to uninterrupted views of the majestic coast line. The Enigma Mansion is valued at over R300 million and is SA’s most expensive residence ever built.

It contains every possible luxury feature imaginable and 36 IPads control all functions of the residence from the music to the underfloor heating to the light settings. The Enigma mansion also has the world’s largest Panasonic TV in the living room but that is not to outshine the 3D cinema or the state-of-the-art media room. This room is kitted out with technology’s finest which includes an Apple Mac, scanner, fax, printer, Loewe TV, Blu-Ray, CD player and i-Pods, Kaleidoscope Movie server with access to 1000s of movies and TV series.

Other features on the property include a Olympic-sized Versace-style pool, a separate 250 sq. guest house, atelier and winter garden, a teahouse, a Balinese massage temple, herb and vegetable garden as well as 10 terraces, parks, waterways and ponds and a hidden secluded cottage.

Every single door handle, plate and even the hinges are gilded pieces of art hand-made in Argentina by the few craftsmen in the world who are able to replicate the exquisite door handles from the time of Louis XIV.

The hand printed wallpapers originate from Zuber in Paris; fabrics are from Carlucci or Designers Guild. All chandeliers and wall lamps are either antique or handmade pieces and each is one of a kind.

The Enigma Mansion can be rented out for R100 000 or can also be hired for a day rate of R10 000 for photo or film shoots and R30 000 for TV commercials.

The mansion exudes true opulence, glamour and luxury living. It’s no wonder it was voted one of the best villa’s in South Africa…
