It’s just been confirmed that local muso hottie Dan Patlansky will be the support act for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band when they perform live in SA, check it out…
In a little over a decade, Dan Patlansky has become one of the most respected blues/rock artists to emerge from South Africa. His critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Standing at the Station’ earned Patlansky a reputation as a Blues phenomenon and culminated in a ‘Readers Choice’ award as ‘Best Blues Guitarist in Southern Africa.’ In 2006 Fender Guitars offered Patlansky an endorsement deal making him one of only six Fender endorsed guitarists in SA. His second album, ‘True Blues’ was released on the prestigious Blue Note label, a feat few South African artists have achieved. Patlansky subsequently released three more albums; ‘Real’, ‘Move My Soul’ and ‘20 Stones’, which was nominated by readers of Blues Rock Review in the USA as 10th best album of that year. His first acoustic album, ‘Wooden Thoughts’, was released in early 2013 and received widespread praise. Dan will perform hits from his back catalogue as well as tracks from his forthcoming album ’Dear Silence Thieves’, due for release in March 2014.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform live for the very first time in South Africa. Having sold 65 million albums in the USA and over 120 million albums world wide, Bruce Springsteen has won numerous awards including 20 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globes and an Academy Award. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999 and Rolling Stone Magazine ranked ‘Born To Run’ and ‘Thunder Road’ in its Top 500 Greatest songs of all time.
One of the biggest touring artists in the world, Bruce Springsteen’s recording career spans more than thirty years. Fans will have the chance to hear many of his hits with a two and half hour live music show.
