Since Hooters first opened its doors 26 years ago in Florida, America the concept has experienced unbridled success and has expanded to over 450 locations internationally. The Hooters On The Rocks restaurant in Umhlanga appears to be no different and features seating to accommodate 180 guests with over 23 TVs and an indoor and outdoor full liquor bar.
The saucy franchise opened their doors in style celebrating with an exclusive VIP launch becoming the first Hooters restaurant in Africa. Two more branches are expected to open in South Africa in the near future with the race for completion in time for the Fifa World Cup 2010.
Hooters On the Rocks, which previously housed Durban’s ever-popular Cotton Fields, features 18 plasma TV screens located around the restaurant offering diners the opportunity to watch the Sharks in action while indulging in one of their diverse menu options. The menu features a wide variety ranging from seafood and sandwiches to their signature spicy chicken wings served by scantily-clad Hooters girls in orange hot pants and white tank tops.
With its casual beach-themed atmosphere, sports and sexy female servers Durban’s latest offering is sure to remain a coastal hotspot.
